Frequently Asked Questions
What products can I find at the Market?
The Owensboro Regional Farmers' Market is made up of independent local vendors and small businesses, each of whom determines what they bring to sell each week. You'll find a wide variety of locally grown produce, handmade goods, baked items, meats, plants, and more —and the selection changes from week to week! Because our farmers grow what's in season, we encourage you to visit our What's in Season This Month? page before your trip so you know what to expect.
Can I call ahead to find out if a specific product will be available?
Since every vendor is an independent small business, the Market itself cannot guarantee what any individual vendor will have on a given market day. Your best bet is to contact vendors directly! Visit our Vendor List page to find contact information, social media pages, and websites for our vendors so you can reach out to them ahead of time.
Do vendors attend every market day?
Vendor attendance can vary from week to week. Each vendor runs their own independent business and makes their own decisions about when they participate. We recommend following your favorite vendors on social media or contacting them directly for their schedules. You can find vendor contact information on our Vendor List page.
Can I still buy from Market vendors when the Market is not in season?
Yes! Many of our vendors operate year-round through their own farm stands, storefronts, or online shops. Check our Vendor List page for links to vendor websites, social media pages, and contact information so you can continue supporting your favorite local businesses even during the off-season!
How can I learn more about a specific vendor or place an order in advance?
Each of our vendors is an independent business, and many offer pre-ordering, custom orders, or advance sales through their own channels. Visit our Vendor List page to find contact details, websites, and social media links for all of our current Market vendors. Reaching out directly to vendors is the best way to place orders, ask questions, or arrange pickup.
How do I know what produce is fresh and in season right now?
Our farmers grow and harvest what nature provides, so the produce available at the Market reflects what is naturally in season in our region. For a helpful guide to what's currently being harvested, visit our What's in Season This Month?page. This is a great resource for planning your Market visit and knowing what to look for.
How do I become a vendor?
Applications are generally accepted each January for the upcoming season. Applications can be found on our website and on our social media pages. Guest vendors are invited to apply for our annual Holiday Market held the first weekend in November each year. Those applications generally open in July. Be sure to check our social media pages for application announcement!
Are all products at the Market locally made or grown?
The Owensboro Regional Farmers' Market is committed to supporting local growers and makers. Our vendors are local farmers, craftspeople, and small business owners from our region. For specifics about a vendor's products and growing or production practices, we encourage you to chat with them directly at the Market —they love talking about what they do!
